Marketing and distribution

Distribution
There are many distribution channels available to most companies. The key here is to define which will be the most effective at ensuring the target audience/s receive a copy of the book in an environment where they will respond favourably.

Focus has created and implemented a variety of specialised distribution and marketing programmes for companies including Qantas, MBF, Traveland, the Snowy Mountains Authority.

Distribution avenues include:

  • Direct mail
  • Piggy-back mailings with shareholder notices
  • Traditional bookshop network
  • Specialist bookshops
  • Specialist and general magazines with coupons
  • Libraries
  • Clients
  • Employees
  • Suppliers

and many more that Focus can help you with.

Sales & Marketing
The whole issue of whether to sell and market a corporate book, and who to sell and market it to is a challenging one for each company. Just as each company has different objectives in undertaking their book so to do they have different view about the sale and marketing of their book. Some of the issues that need to be canvassed include:

  • What is the recommended retail price going to be and do we even want to put a $ value on the book?
  • Can we sell our book through the traditional book shop network, how is this done, what is the return and what number of books would sell?
  • Do we need a bar code?
  • Do we sell the book to staff or provide free copies?
  • At what price do we sell the book to employees and how do you market the book to employees?
  • Who else do we sell or market the book to?
  • What kind of time frame do we need to create a marketing plan specifically for the book? *
  • How do we deliver the book?

and much more that Focus can help you with.
